While we know of several stories today, I just think of how translation can influence how language acts as both a bridge and a barrier. Through word of mouth, every culture holds unique stories, and we are all made of it as well. Though sometimes we hope not to get lost in the shadows of meaning. Several original pieces of literature and history that’s been translated I often wonder if there have been stories that couldn’t be translated and if that’s what has impacted
With stories to tell, I sit to think if translation can keep the original meaning intact?
What if it’s all lost in the process of translating?
What if the essence, what if the truth is distorted, what if it’s no longer holding the same value and depth?
What if there are hidden stories that we don’t know because of the translation?
Translation is descriptive. We know several stories because of it, but I still can’t help thinking that translation can end up messing with the soul. We don’t need translators in our lives. We need people who can decode us the way we are.
Conclusion
We want people who can interpret our soul, not just our words. Translation isn’t just about interpretation; it is about preserving the real meaning intact, which defines how understood we feel.
