White walls

Till I was 17, I hated white walls that filled my house,

The one that made my room feel like it’s without life.

I found it dull, bland, and shallow.

I desperately wanted images, colour, and vibrancy on them.

I wanted them to feel alive and full of life.

It used to make me feel angry

It wasn’t till I started painting on white paper that I realised that white too has its identity.

It stands out.

It made me fall in love with white, and it was then that I realised that white is the most colourful of all colours.

Now that I see my house painted in a different shade of white, or any other colour, I feel caged, confined, and restricted.

White is exciting, and now I’m left with nothing.

Where I once saw wild and vivid images, I’m now left with monotony.
