Love is a mystery that has captivated many poets and philosophers, yet it cannot be easily defined. It is perhaps the only emotion we experience that is not definitive. Disguised and expressed in various forms, love transforms us. It envelops you like a black hole, pulling you in. You cannot allow someone to see your best self without also revealing your worst. Love is like air; the person you love becomes the air you breathe, because true love means you cannot imagine life without them. Simply the thought of them not being with you is unbearable.
Every trial and every joyful moment is worth it because you choose to love your partner fully. You choose to navigate through challenges together. Love cannot be filled with doubt; it must be embraced wholeheartedly, like a heart that beats for the one it desires, despite all obstacles.
To be in love is one thing.
To be flattered and swoon away is another.
Is it friendship and companionship that build the foundation of it?
Is it the fact that you get emotional seeing someone in love?
You feel intimate sharing a pace with them, you feel like there’s no other thought but of them that consumes you.
Is it that you feel belong, understood, accepted and seen that you feel like you name yourself with them, not because it excites you because they are so much to you than just a presence.
You feel like your heart belongs to them. Your actions speak louder or are the unsaid words that precede that feeling?
Their gaze feels like you burn for them, and you feel like you are addicted to them like a drug because they’ve made you hypnotised like a magician.

The reason why love is intoxicating is that it is a truth that completes us, though it leaves us feeling exposed, like naked in front of them. There is vulnerability in the way we surrender ourselves that’s both terrifying and beautiful. Love unmasks the soul. A gaze unravels our defences, shared silence can speak louder than several promises. The thrill of feeling seen, understood without explanation, makes love feel like a spell cast upon us. To be Romeo and Juliet in love is like adventure because you realise the simple things and idiocrincies. We are all weird and imperfect, but we get to choose who’d see our world with whom we try everything to be just complete. To be in love is to risk and glow in the dark. It’s like magic whispered in our bones and the most human experiences of all emotions. “It’s about giving a shot.”
